This is a sculpture I bought back in the mid-1980's. The sculptor was Patrick Sullivan who was commissioned to do a lot of the art for Expo 86 in Vancouver. He has done a lot of work in the Pacific Northwest as well. The B.C.-born sculptor has created a number of impressive works that are on display throughout the Sea to Sky corridor, including the Last Love piece on the Valley Trail by Lake Placid Road and the four basalt sculptures in front of the Whistler Public Library, Last Love II, III, IV and V. The sculpture I am selling was purchased for over $1, 000.00 in 1986. It depicts a family of four that are trying to survive in a metropolis that has pollution and other concerns. The city it is representing is Mallairdville BC.
