Suction diffusers are flow-straightening tools that enhance flow efficiency at the pump's suction inlet while also requiring less room and fittings. They also do away with the requirement for a straight run on the suction side of the pump that is comparable to ten pipe diameters in length. It is an elbow with a built-in strainer that seeks to offer simple maintenance and trouble-free system performance.
